The first Ministry is the Ministry of the Assembly. It is our common call to gather in Christ’s name and by our very assembling to be the sacrament of God’s presence in the world. In addition to this every parishioner is encouraged to active participation in the parish and work for the kingdom of God. |
Liturgical Ministries. These include service in liturgical music: the Choir, Instrumentalists and Cantors.
Extra-ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion,
Ministers of the Word, and Pass-keepers as well as Altar Servers.
There are also leaders of the Children’s Liturgy of the Word. |
| The Ministry of Hospitality. We are called to share with others the hospitality we ourselves receive from God and to invite others to share the riches of God’s word and extend the invitation to walk with us on the journey of faith. Through welcome, offering tea/coffee after Mass, at the reception of Funerals and in the general welcome of visitors and enquirers, we practice the ministry of hospitality. |
Sacramental Preparation. The work of prayerfully accompanying those preparing for the sacraments, especially the
Sacraments of Initiation (R.C.I.A.) and Marriage, is a vital ministry of the parish. |
Outreach. There is a variety of work to be done in reaching out beyond the gathered community. This includes :
Hospital visitation, Special ministers taking Holy Communion to the
hospitalised, sick and Housebound, Soup delivery to the needy,
Providing car transport to church. St. Vincent de Paul Society; Justice and Peace Group;
Accompanying enquirers and catechumens in the Journey of Faith
(R.C.I.A.) Wednesday evenings. |
Care of the church fabric. This vital contribution to the parish is expressed by: Church cleaners, Providing flowers and decoration for the church
and painting and decorating. |
