Story of my Journey of Faith into the Roman Catholic Church
Norma Pacione
Norma was received into the Church at St. Joseph's Parish on Easter Sunday 1989.

January 1930 was the time when I first saw the light of day. From that moment I was brought up in a very loving and caring way by my parents whom I have to thank so much for my initial training in human relationships and my introduction to a loving Jesus, first of all with stories from the Bible, and then, at age of four, I was taken to Sunday school. I had been searching for the kind of joy I knew then, as a child, in that Sunday school. Jesus was a friend and he loved me, I knew that, with absolute certainty. The memories of those days are still vivid and extremely happy.

My adult years up to this part of my life, have been spent searching and looking for this JOY in many different churches and I found it in this church of St. Joseph with its loving, caring people and priests. I can't tell you how big a part you all played at this momentous time of my life. THANK YOU.

The people who helped to draw me along this road over the years are too numerous to mention but two ladies in particular helped me with their friendship and discussions; (I won't embarrass them by naming them, but they know who I mean.) I must also mention my sister and her family in Singapore who helped me on my journey with their strong Evangelical Christian faith.

At this point must say how much the 'RENEW' programme helped me to reach this stage of loving and believing! Many, many happy hours of sharing and caring in our "Small Group" made me a better person and nudged me along the road. In today's vernacular they really were "something else".

Making the posters for the seasons of 'RENEW' made me think very deeply about the topic each week in order to put over my re-awakened thoughts about the Gospel of the Lord. May 'RENEW' go on and on, rekindling the flame of faith and keeping alive this child-like joy I have found again after all these years.

Finally: the unending support of my husband whose patience with me was almost saintly.
Thank you dear.
